  • Please review your syllabus and have it signed!
  • Also complete your Constellation of Knowledge work we started in class.  The prompt is below for reference.
The following quote is extracted from the work of Walter Benjamin (1892-1940). Please read and reread to prepare to discuss the questions below.

It’s not that what is past casts its light on what is present, or what is present its light on the past; rather, image is that wherein what has been comes together in a flash with the now to form a constellation.

“Awakening” (The Arcades Project)

What defines the past and present?

What is an image?

How do these images form a constellation?

In a sudden flash, what is realized?

How does language articulate knowledge?

Homework: Consider the constellation as a blueprint, the language you use to connect each flash generates knowledge.  For homework, write a short description of  your constellation.  In your constellation, describe 3-5 images. Describe a flash you have experienced or when you experienced the process of learning.
